David Hardesty
David Hardesty is a partner of Wilson Markle Stuckey Hardesty & Bott, a San Francisco Bay Area CPA firm. He is a certified public accountant, consultant, corporate governance expert, educator, and expert on financial reporting and taxation for technology companies, stock compensation, and electronic commerce. David has written a number of books on Sarbanes-Oxley and other corporate governance issues. In addition to writing books on corporate governance, David has authored a number of books on taxation and accounting issues.

Before joining Wilson Markle Stuckey Hardesty & Bott in 1984, David worked at Touche Ross & Company (now Deloitte) and Grant Thornton International. He was educated at Golden Gate University, where he received degrees in accounting and taxation. David continues his affiliation with that institution as an adjunct professor in its Graduate School of Taxation, and a member of the advisory board of the Golden Gate University School of Accounting, and the Graduate School of Taxation. He is also an adjunct professor with Northeastern University's College of Business Administration, where he teaches international taxation.

David is a frequent speaker on issues related to corporate governance. In 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008, David was named by Accounting Today as one of the 100 most influential people in accounting; and in 2005 and 2007 was named by CPA Magazine as one of the Top 100 most influential practitioners in the accounting industry.
