Jonathan R. Zelnik is a Principal in the Financial Institutions and Products practice in the Washington National Tax Office of KPMG LLP. Mr. Zelnik has authored numerous articles on the taxation of financial products and debt instruments. He is a Co-Editor in Chief for the Journal of Taxation of Financial Products. Before joining KPMG LLP, Mr. Zelnik worked in various parts of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, including as Senior Counsel to the Chief Counsel. Mr. Zelnik received his JD (magna cum laude) from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles; he graduated second in his class and was a member of the Order of the Coif.
