Donette Dewar
Ms. Dewar is a partner in the Houston office of Baker & McKenzie where she practices in the areas of international taxation, structured finance, and mergers and acquisitions. She has substantial experience in advising multinational clients on the tax aspects of international transactions, financial derivatives, hedging transactions, notional principal contracts, and various financing techniques.

Prior to joining Baker& McKenzie, Ms. Dewar was a senior tax director of a major international energy company and a global tax senior manager with a Big Five accounting firm. Ms. Dewar is a frequent speaker for Tax Executive Institute, ATLAS/SFI, and various industry groups.

Ms. Dewar earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics, magna cum laude, from The Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. from The University of Virginia School of Law where she was editor-in-chief of the Virginia Tax Review and the recipient of the Edwin S. Cohen Tax Scholarship. She is admitted to practice law in the state of Texas and is a member of the American Bar Association (Tax Section), the Texas Bar Association, and the Houston Bar Association.
