Debera Salam

Debera Salam is director of Payroll Information and Process Services of Ernst & Young LLP, where her experience in payroll research, best practices, publishing, and risk controversy are applied to the development and management of Ernst & Young's payroll information and process services. Prior to joining Ernst & Young LLP, Ms. Salam was president of Payroll Support Associates, a national firm that specialized in publications and training programs for the payroll industry. Ms. Salam is well known as an author, columnist, speaker, trainer, and noted authority on topics relating to payroll. Among her many activities in the payroll industry, she is an advisory board member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and an advisory board member for Research Institute of America's Payroll Guide.

Recognized as one of the leading specialists and authors on payroll, Ms. Salam is currently editor-in-chief of Ernst & Young LLP's monthly newsletter Payroll Perspectives, and is author of the widely acclaimed Principles of Payroll Administration, The Complete Learning and Reference Guide, as well as a two-volume payroll home study course for bookkeepers - Mastering Payroll. Ms. Salam has been a speaker and trainer for numerous organizations. Ms. Salam provides presentations and payroll training to a broad range of audiences, including payroll and HR professionals, financial professionals, and CEOs. She was named Texas Payroll Professional of the Year in 2004 by the Texas Payroll Conference, Inc. and is listed in the American Payroll Association's Hall of Fame.

Ms. Salam is a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and was selected for listing in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, and Who's Who in America.
